GN ReSound – The Danish manufacturer of innovative hearing solutions with a manufacturing base near Oxford.
They have been around since 1943 and have been responsible for a number of hearing industry firsts – WDRC (Wide Dynamic Range Compression) broke new ground for sound processing. DFS (Digital Feedback Suppression) was the first system to effectively eliminate whistling and sound distortion.
GN ReSound were the first to develop Open Ear OTE hearing aids with the launch of the renowned ReSound Air.
The latest groundbreaking innovation from ReSound is being the first to launch a hearing aid specifically ‘Made for iPhone’ – ReSound LiNX. ReSound LiNX communicates directly with your iOS device such as your iPhone, iPad or iPod with no intermediary device! You can use your iPhone as a remote control, program adjuster, remote microphone, the list goes on!
GN ReSound are also one of the world’s largest providers of diagnostic audiological instrumentation and the company is represented in more than 80 countries.
In the UK GN ReSound have a substantial investment in the Amplifon chain of hearing aid suppliers. This may account for the fact that when advised by their hearing aid dispensers you will most often be encoraged to purchase ReSound hearing aids. Unfortunately Amplifon are generally quite expensive, certainly compared to prices you see on the internet, and as a company they often re-badge hearing aids which makes direct price comparisons more difficult. If you are unsure and would like some advice on this point please feel free to get in touch with us.
Wireless – Keeping with today’s demand for wireless connectivity, most ReSound hearing aids are compatible with their range of wireless accessories. These allow you to connect to various everyday devices such as televisions or mobile phones.
