GN ReSound have been around since 1943 and have been responsible for a number of hearing industry firsts - WDRC (Wide Dynamic Range Compression) broke new ground for sound processing. DFS (Digital Feedback Suppression) was the first system to effectively eliminate whistling and sound distortion.

GN ReSound were the first to develop Open Ear OTE hearing aids with the launch of the renowned ReSound Air.

GN ReSound are also one of the world’s largest providers of diagnostic audiological instrumentation and the company is represented in more than 80 countries.

GN ReSound's flagship product is the ReSound Alera range of RIC hearing aids, they have been generally very well received and are an attractive option particularly when supplied along with the Unite range of wireless accessories to help with TV audio and telephone calls.

In the UK GN ReSound have a substantial investment in the Amplifon chain of hearing aid suppliers. This may account for the fact that when advised by their hearing aid dispensers you will most often be encoraged to purchase ReSound hearing aids. Unfortunately Amplifon are generally quite expensive, certainly compared to prices you see on the internet, and as a company they often re-badge hearing aids which makes direct price comparisons more difficult.
