Phonak Ambra - based on the new Spice platform, the Phonak Ambra is the top of the range hearing aid from Phonak and offers a complete product line including everything from power BTE through to CIC and the new Nano model. The Phonak Ambra builds on the great results of it's predessessor the Exelia Art and before that the Savia Art, and adds some great new features. Some of the new stand out features in the Phonak Ambra include;

UltraZoom with SNR Boost - The foundation for Phonak's sophisticated binaural beamforming features is UltraZoom with SNR-Boost. It is the first and only dual-microphone system to incorporate a unique spatial noise cancellation algorithm designed specifically for directional applications. Basically this feature helps with those speech in noise situations automatically, with no user interaction.

StereoZoom - StereoZoom takes binaural processing technology to a whole new level by integrating the input from the four microphone network of two hearing instruments. Monaural directional microphones have a broad forward focus which often includes undesirable or distracting sounds. StereoZoom has the unique ability to significantly narrow the beam, effectively addressing the common need to focus on a single voice in a crowd. This is in our opinion the biggest standout feature of the new Phonak Ambra, we have had some very favourable reports back from our clients particularly about StereoZoom.

auto ZoomControl - auto ZoomControl harnesses the power of Phonak's unique full bandwidth audio exchange and advanced binaural processing to automatically track and focus on speech, regardless of the direction, enabling understanding without the need to face the speaker. This feature can be particularly useful when travelling in a car for instance, standard directional microphone strategy concentrates on enhancing speech from the front, which is fine ordinarily but not so good if you are trying to listen to a back seat passenger when driving!

FlexControl - Controls that allow the wearer to easily make targeted adjustments have a significant impact on audibilty, particularly in those difficult speech in noise situations.. FlexControl offers the freedom and flexibility to maximize hearing benefits everywhere. Basically FlexControl can be thought of as a clarity control, the more help you need in a difficult listening environment the more you increase all the features to enable better understanding of speech.
