Ear Protection
Although the primary business of Digital Hearing Care is the supply of high quality hearing aids at great prices, we are often asked to take impressions of ears for the supply of various types of hearing protection.
In other words, we are concerned with halting the damage that excessive noise undoubtedly causes before it happens, along with addressing the hearing loss once the damage has been caused!
You can of course buy cheap generic ear plugs by the box for little cost, but many people find them at best satisfactory, at worst uncomfortable and ineffective.
From around £50 upward, you can have custom made hearing protection that fits perfectly in the ear, is comfortable for extended wear and be sure you are protecting your ears against the damaging effects of excessive noise.
There are various types of hearing protection available, our preferred supplier is Ultimate Ear.

- Swimmers - For swimmers, wind surfers, canoeists or persons with grommets
- Military & Police - Products for the Military and Police forces
- Those in need of a good nights sleep - For use with noisy neighbours or surroundings
As a general rule, you select the type of product you are interested in on the Ultimate Ear website, approach us to arrange to take impressions of your ears, and then you send the impressions directly to Ultimate Ear for the manufacturing process.
Our fee depends on the number of people requiring impressions. For one set of impressions the cost is £25, for 2-5 sets of impressions the cost is £20 each, and 5+ the cost is £15 per set of impressions.
Once you have the impressions to hand you can make arrangements directly with Ultimate Ear to pay for the cost of the chosen product itself. Ultimate Ear can at that time advise of turnaround times, which can vary depending on workload.
